Vision and Values

Be Ready              Be Safe                Be Respectful

Our Vision

At Great Waldingfield CEVC School we take pride in our welcoming inclusive church school where each child is recognised as an individual. Through a foundation of Christian values and with Jesus’ promise of 'life in all its fullness' at its heart our ethos encourages open minds and kind hearts. Our culture equips children to accept challenge and inspires them to flourish in all that they do.

“Let the children come to me and do not stop them, because the Kingdom of Heaven

belongs to them” MATTHEW 19:14

‘Our school is not a faith school for Christians but a church school for all,’

Rev Nigel Genders.

Our Values

Our Christian Values which interweave so much with British Values underpin the life of our school.

We take every opportunity across all subjects and every aspect of school life to embrace these values.

RESPONSIBILITY

We believe life is a gift and it is our responsibility to use our talents and abilities in the best way we can. We are reliable and thoughtful and use our time well.

JUSTICE

We stand up for fairness and treat others with respect. We help others who find themselves in unfair situations and are inclusive in our play.

COMPASSION

We care about how others feel. We notice the needs of others and try our best to understand how they feel. We are kind in what we say and do.

FORGIVENESS

When mistakes happen we forgive, and accept an apology that is really meant. When we forgive we are able to move forward and make a fresh start.

TRUST

We believe that trust must be earned and good relationships are based on trust. We can show others we are trustworthy.

RESPECT

We accept we are all difference but we are all special. We learn to value ourselves, each other, our families and the wider community.

These six key Christian Values are rooted in the teachings of the Bible

  1. Responsibility  ̴  We are responsible for own conduct, attitude and behaviour. Galatians 6:5
  2. Justice  ̴  ‘The righteous care about justice for the poor’ Proverbs 29:7
  3. Compassion  ̴  ‘Be thoughtful and kind in all that we do and help those less fortunate.’ Luke 10:25-37
  4. Forgiveness  ̴  'Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must also forgive others.' Colossians 3.13
  5.  Respect  ̴  'Do to others as you would have them do to you.' Matthew 7.12
  6. Trust  ̴  'My God is my strength in whom I trust.' Psalm 18.2
